NEW "LEASH" ON LIFE FOR PUPPY WITH PROSTHETIC PAW

2-month-old Pit Bull puppy Skip had received a lot of bad news in his short life, until one vet tech decided to change his luck. According to ABC News, the pup was set to be euthanized due a bone deformity that caused him to lose one of his front paws.

Skip's original owners brought him into the Merced Veterinary Clinic in Merced, Calif., where veterinarian Betty Lawson told the couple that their options were surgery or surrendering the dog for euthanasia. Unable to afford the surgical treatment, the owners gave Skip to the clinic.

Seeing the the precious puppy scheduled to be put down, vet tech Xenia Onofre decided to give Skip a second chance. Onofre took the dog in and paid for two surgeries and several months of treatment. Unfortunately, none of the efforts helped care for Skip's disorder and amputated leg.
