Organic Dog Food: Is It Really Worth It?

Today, more and more dog owners are putting their dogs on an organic diet. But some people have doubts about organic dog food. Some even wonder if it’s really worth the cost and if it’s nutritious.
Sure, putting our dogs on an organic diet costs more than feeding them regular processed food, but organic dog foods are much more nutritious. These foods do not contain any preservatives, and the less preservatives dogs consume the better.
Listed below are a few benefits your dog will have once he’s put on an organic diet:
Skin Allergy Reduction—Organic dog food doesn’t contain artificial colors, chemical additives, or toxic pesticides, and it helps combat skin infections and allergies in dogs.
Less Digestive Problems—Since organic dog food is full of grains and proteins and is not made up of artificial substances or chemicals, it’s much more digestible.
Stronger Immunity—Organic dog foods provide better nutritional substances than non-organic dog foods. Because organic dog foods are more digestible, dogs will absorb more of the nutrients. This will help the dog’s immune system.
Energy Boost / Healthy Weight—Organic dog foods contain less fillers, so your dog will only consume what he needs. Dogs fill up quickly on organic foods, so they eat less. This helps them maintain a healthy weight and will give them more energy.
Quality of Life—What we feed our dogs affect their quality of life. If we choose to put our dogs on an organic diet, we’re helping our dogs live a longer, happier and healthier life.
I spoke with three dog owners who have recently put their dogs on an organic diet. Here’s what they had to say:
Amanda: “Ever since I changed my dog’s food to organic, he has much more daily energy.”
James: “My dog was constantly scratching and the vet determined she was developing a food allergy. He recommended that I put her on an organic diet. Ever since I changed her food, she’s not scratching anymore and she actually enjoys the taste of her new food.”
Karen: “Even though I pay more for organic dog food, it’s well worth it. It’s nutritious and my dog really likes it. I’ll never feed her anything else.”
Keep in mind that it takes more than just putting your dog on an organic diet to keep him healthy. Yes, it’s important that we put attention into what we feed our dogs, but they also need plenty of exercise.
We consider our dogs as a part of our family, so it’s only natural that we want what’s best for them. It’s our responsibility as dog owners to make sure they receive proper nutrition.
So, is organic dog food really worth it? Absolutely!
